Practical Driver TrainerLocation: Redditch, WarwickshireSalary: Upto £40,000 plus benefitsOur client are seeking an experienced Practical Driver Trainer to be responsible for the hands-on, practical delivery of driver training and assessment that supports and mentors drivers throughout their career. The Practical Driver Trainer carries out driving assessments across HGV and grey fleet vehicles (pick-ups and vans), teaches load securing, and delivers the practical and in-cab elements of driver training. The role applies and reinforces safe systems of work through the training delivered, to enhance and improve the standards of all drivers.Duties:To design, develop and deliver customised structured practical and in-vehicle training modules applicable to the business.To carry out driving assessments and practical training that support drivers throughout their career within the business.Apply and reinforce safe systems of work through the practical training delivered to drivers.Teach load securing to drivers across the vehicle fleet.Prepare for and manage internal and external audits.Carry out driving assessments for both HGV and grey fleet vehicles (pick-ups and vans)Assessment of drivers during the recruitment and selection processTrain drivers on load securingTrain drivers to perform pre-drive checksSupport the delivery of driver inductions, including the practical and in-cab elementsDeliver a high standard of practical training to drivers at all levelsApply and reinforce safe systems of work for driver processes through on-road and practical trainingSupport investigations by delivering additional practical training identified from root cause findingsSupport practical retraining identified through driver performance and vehicle telematicsFeedback assessment outcomes and training records to the Driver Trainer to maintain compliance to regulatory and internal standardsCollaborate with key business departments to help support raising standardsSupport the Health & Safety of all colleagues in the workplaceEssential Skills:Full current, clean, UK driving licence, including the relevant HGV (LGV) categoriesDVSA Approved Driving Instructor or DVSA Fleet Driver Trainer qualificationPrevious qualifications to support the delivery of trainingExcellent verbal communication skillsThe ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiativeGood IT skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerpointDesirable skills:SAFED driver training experienceTrain the Trainer qualification, such as PTTLS or equivalentHealth and Safety qualification, such as IOSH Working SafelyKnowledge or experience of ADR and/or the carriage of dangerous goodsKnowledge of Operator Licence complianceRoad Transport Manager Certificate of Professional CompetenceTPBN1_UKTJ
