Estates Maintenance Officer

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a friendly and supportive Estates team, helping to maintain an outstanding learning environment for pupils, staff and visitors.No two days are the same in this varied, hands-on role. From carrying out repairs and maintenance to supporting school events and ensuring the site is safe and secure, you'll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the school.The RoleAs part of the Estates team, your responsibilities will include:Carrying out general repairs and maintenance across the school siteMaintaining fixtures, fittings, lighting and external areasEnsuring the school remains safe, secure, clean and well presentedOpening and locking the school buildings as requiredSetting up classrooms, halls and facilities for school events and activitiesSupporting with swimming pool water testing and monitoring (training provided where required)Completing general porterage duties, including moving furniture and equipmentAssisting with grounds maintenance, including leaf clearance, play area upkeep and external cleaningDriving the school's minibuses and other estates vehicles when requiredCarrying out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) following online trainingSupporting the wider Estates team with additional maintenance tasks across the school campusShift PatternThe role operates on a three-week rotating shift pattern:Early: Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:00pmDay: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pmLate: Monday-Friday, 10:30am-7:00pmOccasional evening and weekend work will be required to support school events such as Open Days and other key activities.About YouWe're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, has a positive attitude and takes pride in delivering a high standard of service.You'll ideally have:Previous maintenance, caretaking, facilities or estates experience (school experience is advantageous but not essential)Good DIY and practical maintenance skillsA proactive, reliable and hardworking approachThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication skills and a customer-focused attitudeThe ability to carry out manual work, including lifting and working at height where appropriateConfidence working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditionsExcellent attention to detail, particularly around health and safetyA full, clean UK driving licence (essential)Safeguarding training will be provided, and all appointments will be subject to the appropriate pre-employment checks.What's on Offer?Permanent, full-time positionCompetitive salary of £25,525-£27,992 , depending on experienceGenerous employer pension contribution of 8.35% after three months' serviceSupportive and welcoming team environmentVaried, hands-on role where no two days are the sameOpportunity to work within a beautiful and well-maintained educational settingOngoing training and development, including PAT testing qualificationIf you're looking for a rewarding role where your practical skills can make a real difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ
