On behalf of a highly supportive and inclusive primary school in Liverpool, Randstad Education is seeking an experienced or highly motivated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. The Role: Impact & Responsibilities\n

As a 1:1 specialist, you will be the dedicated support system for a pupil, helping them overcome barriers to learning, regulate their emotions, and unlock their full potential across primary age groups.

\n
    \n
  • Tailor the Learning: Adapt KS1 and KS2 curriculum tasks into engaging, accessible activities that align with the pupil's individual learning style and focus.
  • \n
  • Emotional Regulation & SEMH Support: Act as a calming presence, utilizing co-regulation techniques to help pupils navigate moments of anxiety, frustration, or emotional distress.
  • \n
  • Structuring Success: Implement visual timetables, sensory breaks, and tailored routines to help pupils with ASD and ADHD navigate the school day with confidence.
  • \n
  • Collaborative Progress: Work hand-in-hand with Class Teachers, the SENCo, and our Randstad team to track progress against Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or EHCP targets.
  • \n
The Ideal Candidate\n

We are looking for professionals who understand that behavior is a form of communication and can look past the challenges to see the child.

\n
    \n
  • Relevant Experience: Prior experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or SEMH within a primary setting (KS1/KS2) is highly advantageous (though passionate individuals with transferable care, sports coaching, or youth work experience are welcome to apply).
  • \n
  • A De-escalation Mindset: Exceptional patience, a calm demeanor, and the ability to remain grounded and supportive during challenging moments.
  • \n
  • Proactive & Intuitive: Ability to recognize triggers early, implementing sensory or movement breaks before a pupil becomes overwhelmed.
  • \n
  • Reliable & Committed: A dependable professional who understands the value of consistency for a child with SEN.
  • \n
