SEN Teaching Assistants - SEN Primary & SEN Secondary Schools in Wimborne

Prospero Teaching is looking for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a range of SEN primary and SEN secondary schools across Wimborne and the surrounding Dorset area.

\n

\n

These specialist settings provide a highly rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs, behavioural challenges, communication differences, and barriers to learning. Many schools are offering temp-to-perm pathways for candidates who show consistency, commitment, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Personalised SEN support - working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils with a range of needs
  • \n
  • Assisting with creative and therapeutic activities to promote engagement and emotional well-being
  • \n
  • Supporting emotional regulation and helping pupils develop independence
  • \n
  • Promoting safety and positive behaviour in line with school policies
  • \n
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families through consistent communication
  • \n

  • Location: Wimborne & surrounding Dorset areas

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Start Date: September 2026 / ASAP

  • Contract Type: Full-time, with temp-to-perm opportunities

  • Pay Rate: From £14.25 per hour
  • \n
  • Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30 (may vary slightly by school)

Requirements

\n

To be considered, you must:

\n
    \n
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
  • \n
  • Hold an Enhanced Child-Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
  • \n
  • Provide professional references covering the last 24 months
  • \n
  • Hold a Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education, or a related field OR have relevant experience supporting children or vulnerable individuals
  • \n
\n
