About the role: Cover Supervisor Opportunities - Wigan/Leigh Schools

EdStaff are seeking an experienced and pro-active Cover Supervisors to join their team of cover supervisors who work in secondary schools across the Wigan area. We actively support a range of schools across the area with absences on both a daily and long-term basis, with the option for flexible and on the day roles.

\n

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain engaged with their learning.

\n

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes across all key stages (KS3 and 4) in the absence of subject teachers
  • \n
  • Supervise the completion of pre-planned lesson materials and ensure students remain on task
  • \n
  • Promote positive behaviour
  • \n
  • Support students with their learning
  • \n
  • Take accurate registers and report concerns to relevant staff
  • \n
  • Assist with general school duties as required
  • \n
  • Adhere to school policies and procedure
  • \n

  • Confident classroom presence
  • \n
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • \n
  • Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
  • \n
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • \n
  • Ability to engage students aged 11-16
  • \n
  • Able to efficiently build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

Essential requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • \n
  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • \n
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
  • \n
  • References to cover the last 2-year period
  • \n
