Finance Manager Birmingham £45,000 - £65,000 DOE Full-TimeAre you an experienced finance professional looking for a role where your expertise will directly influence the success of a growing business? We're looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function across multiple entities, providing accurate financial reporting, strategic insight and robust financial control.This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work closely with the CEO, becoming a trusted adviser and playing a key part in supporting the company's continued growth.The OpportunityAs Finance Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day financial operations across multiple business entities while delivering meaningful financial insight to support commercial decision-making.   • Taking full ownership of the finance function across multiple group companies and business entities.
  • \n
  • Producing accurate monthly management accounts, financial reports and performance analysis for the CEO and senior leadership team.
  • \n
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management, ensuring the business maintains strong financial stability.
  • \n
  • Delivering commercial analysis and financial insight to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
  • \n
  • Managing all balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting and month-end reporting processes.
  • \n
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns and ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations.
  • \n
  • Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control to maintain healthy cash flow across the group.
  • \n
  • Managing payroll or working alongside external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • \n
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for external accountants, auditors, banks and financial advisers.
  • \n
  • Supporting year-end statutory accounts and coordinating the annual audit process where required.
  • \n
  • Developing and improving financial systems, controls and reporting processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • \n
  • Producing KPI reports, dashboards and financial forecasts to support business planning.
  • \n
  • Supporting acquisitions, new business ventures and commercial projects with financial modelling and due diligence.
  • \n
  • Identifying opportunities to improve profitability, reduce costs and strengthen financial performance across the business.
  • \n
  • Maintaining complete confidentiality while handling commercially sensitive financial information.
  • \n
  • Working closely with the CEO to provide proactive financial guidance and support key business initiatives.
  • \n
About YouWe're looking for a proactive finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment.You'll ideally have:\n

  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar position.
  • \n
  • Experience managing finance across multiple companies or legal entities.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • \n
  • Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
  • \n
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with senior leadership.
  • \n
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to streamline processes and implement best practices.
  • \n
  • AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification (or qualified by experience with a proven track record).
  • \n
