Transport Planner – Exeter – Full Time – Permanent - £28,000 to £35,000 DOE
\nWell Placed HR has been exclusively engaged by a successful logistics business in Devon to recruit a Transport Planner.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner, Traffic Planner, Transport Coordinator or Transport Supervisor to join a busy operation and play a key role in the day to day running of the transport department. Working closely with the Transport Manager, you'll help keep vehicles, drivers and deliveries running efficiently.

\nThe Role
\nNo two days are the same, but as Transport Planner you'll be at the heart of the operation, acting as the main point of contact for drivers and helping to keep everything running smoothly.
\nYour responsibilities will include:
\n- Speaking with drivers throughout the day, providing support and guidance
\n- Planning container collections and deliveries
\n- Allocating work and providing drivers with clear instructions
\n- Tracking vehicles and locating loads
\n- Adjusting transport plans as operational demands change
\n- Liaising with customers and colleagues to coordinate deliveries
\n- Resolving day to day operational issues
\n- Supporting the Transport Manager with the smooth running of the department
\n- Using transport management systems to oversee daily operations
\nAbout You
\nYou'll ideally have:
\n- Experience within transport, logistics, haulage or distribution
\n- Strong planning, organisational and communication skills
\n- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment
\n- Good IT skills and experience using transport management software
\nA practical, proactive approach and the ability to build positive relationships with drivers, customers and colleagues
\nExperience within transport planning, traffic planning or transport coordination would be highly beneficial, but just as important is the right attitude, a willingness to learn and the desire to build a long-term career within logistics.
