3rd Line Engineer

A well-established and award-winning MSP based in Oxfordshire is looking for an experienced 3rd Line Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. This is a senior escalation role within the Service Delivery department, working across a broad range of client environments and technology stacks. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary escalation point for 2nd Line engineers across incidents and requestsManage tickets in line with established SLAs, keeping clients informed throughoutMonitor and maintain client infrastructure and systems, responding proactively to alertsProduce and implement change requests for internal and external requirementsSupport client on/offboarding processes and assist with project handovers to service deliveryWork with third-party suppliers and vendors where appropriateTravel to client sites as required for on-site support, installations or meetingsMaintain internal and client documentation to a high standardParticipate in ongoing training programmes and contribute to continuous improvementPerson Specification Essential Minimum 4-5 years' IT experience in a corporate or MSP environment, MSP background is essentialIdeally with 3rd Line experience for some or all of that timeLinux experience (desktop and/or server) is a key differentiator and highly sought afterStrong security knowledge: AV, firewalls, CA policies, RBAC, managed threat response, identity protection, mail/web filteringMicrosoft Azure: Virtual Servers, Backup & DR, Networking, AVD, Hybrid deploymentsCloud-led identity and management: Intune, Entra, ABMBackup & Disaster Recovery processes and technologiesInternal networking: DHCP, DNS, NPS/RADIUS, switches, firewalls, wireless, VPNHypervisor technologies: VMware, Hyper-VMicrosoft Server OS: management, maintenance and deploymentScripting and RPA automationsFull UK driving licence and own transportDesirable Firewalls: WatchGuard, FortiGate, Sophos, SmoothwallEndpoint security: Sophos AVSwitching: HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Dell, UbiquitiCloud: Microsoft Azure certificationDevice management: Apple Business Manager, Google WorkspaceWireless: Ubiquiti, MerakiEmail filtering: Mimecast, BarracudaBackup & DR: Veeam, Datto, Acronis, BarracudaWhat's on Offer Up to £48,000 depending on experience25 days holiday (rising) plus bank holidaysHybrid working, 2-3 days onsite in OxfordshireBUPA Cash PlanDiscounted gym membershipCycle to Work schemeElectric Vehicle schemePaid charity dayOn-site car parkingThis employer is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants with the right to work in the UK.TPBN1_UKTJ
