\nThis is an opportunity to join a small team of exceptional engineers working on the company's core C++ platform. The work is technically demanding, with a strong emphasis on performance, correctness and elegant software design rather than rapid feature delivery.
The Role\nYou'll be working on the core software platform, solving complex engineering problems involving:
\n- \n
- Modern C++ development \n
- High-performance algorithms and data structures \n
- Concurrent and multithreaded programming \n
- Memory management and performance optimisation \n
- Cross-platform software development across Linux, Windows and macOS \n
- Designing and maintaining robust, scalable software at the heart of a globally deployed product \n
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll spend your time solving difficult technical problems, improving performance and writing clean, maintainable code. You'll be joining a team of experienced software engineers, computer scientists and PhDs who are passionate about solving complex engineering problems.
We're Looking For\nYou'll ideally have experience with:
\n- \n
- Modern C++ (C++17 or later) \n
- Performance-critical or systems-level software \n
- Multithreaded and concurrent programming \n
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures \n
- Linux development \n
- Debugging and optimising complex software \n
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
\n- \n
- Database engines \n
- Compilers \n
- Distributed systems \n
- High-performance backend platforms \n
- Scientific or numerical computing \n
- Graphics, simulation or game engines \n
- Low-latency or real-time systems \n
- \n
- Work on a sophisticated C++ codebase deployed at global scale \n
- Join a highly experienced engineering team where technical excellence is valued \n
- Tackle genuinely challenging problems in performance, concurrency and software architecture \n
- Influence the evolution of a core product rather than building peripheral features \n
- Hybrid working with an Oxford-based team \n
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy understanding how software works beneath the surface, care about writing high-quality code, and want to work on technically challenging C++ systems.
