Right Now Group are recruiting for a Cargo Agent to join one of our long-standing clients, a leading cargo ground handler based at Heathrow.

\n

This Cargo Agent role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy office environment and wants to be part of the fast-moving air cargo industry. As a Cargo Agent, you'll work closely with airline partners, warehouse teams and customers to make sure shipments are processed accurately and cargo keeps moving on time.

Key Responsibilities of a Cargo Agent\n

  • Creating and updating shipment records using airline computer systems.
    • \n
  • Processing cargo documentation in line with airline requirements.
    • \n
  • Assisting customers collecting cargo, including taking payments where required.
    • \n
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries in a professional and friendly manner.
    • \n
  • Liaising with warehouse staff and drivers to ensure cargo is processed efficiently.
    • \n
  • Carrying out Dangerous Goods and AVI (Live Animal) checks in line with IATA regulations.
    • \n
  • Completing paperwork accurately and keeping records up to date.
    • \n
Skills & Experience Required as Cargo Agent \n
    \n
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • \n
  • Confidence using computers and learning new systems.
    • \n
  • Previous office or administration experience is beneficial, but not essential as full training will be provided.
    • \n
  • A good level of spoken and written English.
    • \n
  • A reliable attitude with the ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
    • \n

As this Cargo Agent role is based within the Heathrow cargo area, you'll need to be able to complete:

  • A 5-year checkable employment and/or education history.
    • \n
  • A DBS (Criminal Record) check.
    • \n
