Job Description
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
\nWorking Pattern: Thursday & FridayHours: 8:30am – 4:00pm (1-hour lunch break)
\nWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our school team for two days per week. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school and will be confident leading learning activities and providing class cover when required.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Deliver planned lessons and learning activities to whole classes, small groups, and individual pupils. \n
- Provide class cover in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity of learning. \n
- Support pupils to make progress across the curriculum and achieve their individual targets. \n
- Work closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and evaluate learning activities. \n
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff. \n
- Deliver intervention programmes to support academic, social, and emotional development. \n
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. \n
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and external professionals. \n
Essential Requirements
\n- \n
- HLTA qualification or substantial experience working at HLTA level. \n
- Experience within a primary school setting. \n
- Confidence in managing a classroom and delivering lessons independently. \n
- Strong behaviour management skills. \n
- Excellent communication, literacy, and numeracy skills. \n
- Ability to work flexibly and use initiative to meet the needs of the school. \n
- A positive, professional, and proactive approach. \n
