Our organization is excited to present a full-time opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to join a thriving practice in Mason City, Iowa.

The Gastroenterology Department is looking to expand its team by adding two more physicians to a well-established practice that currently includes one physician and one Advanced Practice Provider (APP). Most surgical procedures are conducted at the local hospital, a 342-bed regional referral teaching facility, or at the Ambulatory Surgery Center located conveniently on the same campus. There is also an investment opportunity available in the ASC. Additionally, there is potential for physicians to enhance patient convenience by visiting nearby communities for clinics and surgeries as needed.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Assessing patients by reviewing their health history, conducting physical examinations, and analyzing laboratory, x-ray, and other test results to establish diagnoses.
  • Creating and implementing treatment plans based on patient evaluations and providing educational support to patients.
  • Performing surgical procedures as required.
  • Monitoring hospitalized patients during preoperative and postoperative phases, tracking their progress, and discharging them when appropriate.
  • Identifying abnormal patient reactions to treatments, surgeries, or medications and taking necessary corrective actions.
  • Documenting all aspects of patient care and completing necessary paperwork to ensure payment for services rendered.
  • Participating in assigned call coverage.
  • Staying updated on trends and advancements in the field through reading relevant literature and attending seminars and conferences.

This position is open to candidates requiring H-1B visa sponsorship and J1 waiver candidates.
