Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Detroit, MI

Step into a fulfilling contract Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity serving students throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. Located onsite near Detroit, MI, you’ll join a collaborative education environment with a supportive school team. Your expertise will directly impact learners’ daily lives, all while working with a manageable caseload well below the state maximum of 60 students.

In this role, you will:

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students, ensuring accurate diagnosis and support planning
• Develop and implement effective IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) tailored to individual student needs
• Collaborate regularly with teachers, special educators, and other school professionals to maximize student progress
• Maintain detailed documentation for assessments, progress monitoring, and IEP compliance
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with students and families to foster positive, productive relationships
• Provide direct therapy and monitor the effectiveness of interventions throughout the school year

What we look for:

• Current and valid Michigan SLP license with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
• Experience working in school settings preferred, with solid knowledge of IEP processes and educational best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with children and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational abilities to manage time, documentation, and caseload efficiently
• A proactive, flexible approach and dedication to student growth
