Join a specialized Medication Therapy Management (MTM) environment with a dynamic role offering both onsite and remote work options in Baton Rouge, LA. This 13-week contract-to-hire position is designed for an experienced Pharmacist with a strong background in retail or hospital pharmacy practice, seeking to leverage multiple state licenses in a challenging and rewarding setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medications as per physician orders, adhering to established policies and protocols.
  • Interpret and accurately transcribe prescriptions to computerized patient medication profiles.
  • Maintain comprehensive and precise patient medication records.
  • Safely dispense pharmaceuticals, including controlled substances, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor drug therapies for potential contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of dosage.
  • Identify and report adverse drug reactions promptly.
  • Provide clinical consultation and recommend cost-effective therapeutic alternatives.
  • Document clinical activities and interventions thoroughly.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication use reviews.
  • Supervise pharmacy support personnel and verify their daily activities.
  • Organize work assignments to ensure timely pharmacy service delivery.
  • Conduct medication storage inspections and manage inventory by removing outdated drugs.
  • Professionally respond to inquiries via phone and at service windows.

Qualifications:

  • Current pharmacist license in Louisiana.
  • Possession of a minimum of five additional active pharmacist licenses from states including Alaska, Arkansas, California, District of Columbia, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, or Wyoming.
  • Commitment to obtaining at least 10 pharmacist licenses (excluding Louisiana) within 18 months.
  • Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience required.
