A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist in Cheney, WA, offering a 9-week contract with a reputable long-term care provider. This role includes PV1 and PV2 duties with a focus on dispensing, patient consultation, and pharmacy operations in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and detect over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations regarding medication supply.
  • Assess appropriateness of prescribed medications for patients.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision.
  • Provide medication counseling, including administration, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Offer patient services such as smoking cessation support and health monitoring (blood pressure, cholesterol).
  • Educate patients on the use of medical devices including glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
  • Identify drug-related problems and collaborate with healthcare providers for solutions.
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Active Washington State Pharmacist license (WA license in-hand).
  • Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; training will be provided.
  • Knowledge and skills in long-term care pharmacy practices preferred.
  • Strong communication and supervision capabilities.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, day and evening shifts.
  • Possible weekend rotation.
