Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician

Pay: $38.00 - $45.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities to independently service commercial refrigeration systems. This position is ideal for a technician who understands refrigeration theory, can identify root causes of equipment failures, and takes ownership of every service call from diagnosis through completion.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience working on supermarket rack systems, walk-in coolers and freezers, display cases, and compressor systems. This is not a "parts changer" rolewe are looking for a skilled technician who can accurately diagnose problems, perform quality repairs, and provide exceptional service to commercial customers.

Job Responsibilities

• Independently manage and complete commercial refrigeration service calls.
\n
• Diagnose and repair supermarket rack refrigeration systems, walk-in coolers/freezers, and refrigerated display cases.
\n
• Troubleshoot compressors, controls, electrical components, and refrigeration circuits to determine root causes of system failures.
\n
• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on commercial refrigeration equipment.
\n
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding system issues, repair recommendations, and completed work.
\n
• Maintain ownership of assigned service calls from initial customer contact through verified resolution.
\n
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior or less experienced technicians when needed.
\n
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
\n
• Assist with HVAC-related service work as required, while maintaining commercial refrigeration as the primary focus of the role.

• Follow all company and industry safety standards and best practices.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on commercial refrigeration experience.
\n
• Extensive experience diagnosing and repairing: \n

  • Supermarket rack refrigeration systems
  \n
  • Walk-in coolers and freezers
  \n
  • Refrigerated display cases
  \n
  • Compressors and refrigeration controls
  \n
\n
• EPA Certification required.
\n
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
\n
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex refrigeration issues.
\n
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.
\n
• HVAC experience is a plus but is not required. Candidates with primarily HVAC experience and limited refrigeration experience will not be considered for this position.
