Staff Pharmacist in Ventura, CA
Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time pharmacist opportunity is available within a multi-site hospital pharmacy system in Ventura County, CA. This role involves providing pharmaceutical care across three distinct locations: the medical center, a hospital, and an infusion center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Float between pharmacy locations to ensure continuous pharmaceutical services
- Dispense medication accurately and safely, including handling hazardous drugs and compounding chemotherapy
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy
- Adapt to variable schedules, including 8- and 10-hour shifts, swing shifts, every other weekend, and holiday coverage
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist with experience in hospital or infusion pharmacy settings
- Comfortable working with hazardous medications and chemotherapy compounding
- Ability to travel daily among three pharmacy locations within Ventura County
- Familiarity with Cerner pharmacy systems preferred; training available for the right candidate
- Local candidates preferred to support the travel requirements
Schedule:
- Full-time hours with shifts varying between 8 and 10 hours based on location
- Includes swing shifts, coverage every other weekend, and holidays
