A healthcare facility in Greenacres, WA is seeking a qualified Pharmacist for a 9-week contract starting on August 3rd. This role offers a dynamic schedule with Monday through Friday day/evening shifts and the possibility of weekend rotation. The position welcomes travel pharmacists and provides an opportunity to gain long-term care experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage
  • Ensure all medications are supplied and dispensed within legal regulations
  • Verify suitability of prescribed medications for patients’ conditions
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
  • Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions
  • Provide consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage and dosage
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on proper use and handling of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
  • Identify drug-related problems and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for resolution
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Qualifications:

  • Must hold an active Washington State pharmacist license
  • Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred; retail pharmacists willing to train are welcome
  • Ability to perform PV1 and PV2 duties
  • Strong communication and patient consultation skills
  • Experience supervising pharmacy staff is a plus
