Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract position as a Speech-Language Pathologist delivering essential services in a vibrant school setting. Covering a maternity leave, you’ll work with a diverse caseload and contribute meaningfully to student development. This role runs from late July to November, with potential for extension based on school needs.
Key Details:
- Full-time commitment: 37.5 hours per week
- Duration: Late July through November, with the option to extend
- Caseload: Provide services to 35 individual students as well as incoming Early Intervention students
- Responsibilities include speech and language evaluations, direct therapy sessions, and active participation in IEP meetings
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state licensure and certifications current and in good standing
- Prior experience working as an SLP within a school environment
- Expertise with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices is required
- Capacity to efficiently manage dynamic caseloads and adapt to the needs of early childhood through school-age students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective participation in IEP meetings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations in accordance with legal and district guidelines
- Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions, targeting speech, language, and communication goals
- Participate in the development, revision, and progress monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Integrate AAC strategies to meet students’ unique communication needs
- Cooperate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and teachers to maximize student outcomes
