Job Title: Chemical Manufacturing Operations Technician

Location: 1969 Palomar Oaks Way, Bldg A Carlsbad CA-92011

Shift: 1st Shift, 5am - 1:30pm Monday-Friday

Job Description:

Your Role:

The Operations Technician will be part of the Chemical Manufacturing team in Carlsbad, CA. The team of Operations Technicians are responsible for receiving, decontaminating, rebuilding, and filling our vessels with ultra-pure chemistries. A pre-placement Fit for Duty Evaluation is required for this assignment: Candidate will frequently lift / carry 25-35 lbs.; occasionally lift / carry 36-50 lbs. Candidate will be required to work with solvents of various types and may need to wear a respirator (infrequently if at all).

  • Manual and Automated vessel decontamination
  • Chemical Packaging (Filling with chemical)
  • Perform hazardous waste consolidation
  • Acid wash stainless steel and quartz vessels
  • Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing environment
  • Assist with unloading trucks and receiving as required
  • Assist the Engineering team with troubleshooting system issues
  • Use drawings and instructions to assemble vessels
  • Perform data entry
  • Inspect vessels and documentation for correctness and completeness

Must Have:

  • Must be clean shaved
  • position open due to hiring freeze
  • must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • SAP highly preferred
  • Chemicals: Acids, acetone, IPA
  • Operations Technician

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience handling chemicals
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and written work instructions
  • A strong focus on quality and safety
  • Experience using Microsoft suite including (Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint)
  • Experience using SAP and LIMS systems
  • Ability to use hand tools

Physical Attributes:

  • Wear a full-face air-purifying respirator and other PPE
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
