Physical Therapist - School Setting in Maywood, IL
Job Description
Make an impact on K-12 student success by using your expertise as a Physical Therapist! This full-time contract opportunity begins August 2026 and runs through June 2027, serving three dynamic school sites near Maywood, IL. You'll work with a diverse student population in a collaborative educational environment focused on helping each child achieve their highest level of independence and mobility.
Your experience with pediatric and school-based PT will be put to excellent use as you provide direct and consultative services, develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, and work closely with teachers and families to support students’ needs. This role offers a rewarding balance of hands-on care, advocacy, and teamwork within the school community.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Illinois Physical Therapist license (IL PT License)
- Previous experience in school or pediatric settings strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of special education processes and IEP implementation
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Team-oriented with adaptability across various school environments
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, plan, and provide physical therapy services to K-12 students at three school sites
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy programs and IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to maximize student outcomes
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation
- Offer guidance, recommendations, and training to educational staff as needed
