For the full 26/27 school year, a contract opportunity awaits near Staten Island, NY, offering a fulfilling role that focuses on providing 1:1 OT services to exceptional learners.

In this position, you'll deliver direct occupational therapy during school hours, 8AM to 2PM, supporting students aged 5 to 14. Most of your caseload will consist of children with ASD, but you’ll also have the opportunity to work with students with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and various genetic disorders, totaling 55 sessions each week. This is a chance to build lasting connections while helping each student progress toward greater independence and skill development.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid state OT licensure and NBCOT certification required
  • Previous experience in a school-based environment is highly valued
  • Competence in individualized therapy planning and goal-setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse student needs, educators, and families
  • Compassion, adaptability, and dedication to supporting students with varying abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual OT sessions based on IEP goals
  • Monitor and document student progress frequently
  • Collaborate with teachers, aides, and parents to integrate strategies
  • Adapt interventions to best serve each child’s unique strengths and challenges
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations to enhance student participation in school routines
