Tax Accountant (Senior / Manager)
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join a growing public accounting team. This full-time, on-site position is based in Woodway, TX. The role involves providing comprehensive tax, accounting, and advisory services to individuals and businesses while delivering exceptional client service, accurate financial reporting, and proactive tax planning.
Role DescriptionThe Tax Accountant will prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and other business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Responsibilities include performing tax research, analyzing financial data, identifying tax-saving opportunities, and advising clients on tax planning strategies.
Additional responsibilities include:
Preparing and maintaining accurate workpapers and supporting documentation.
Responding to tax notices and assisting clients during audits or tax inquiries.
Collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality client service.
Staying current with changes in tax laws and regulations.
Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and efficiencies.
Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and other entity tax returns, including year-end tax planning and compliance.
Proficiency in tax research, analyzing complex tax issues, and applying current federal, state, and local tax laws.
Solid accounting knowledge, including general ledger, financial statement preparation, and workpaper documentation.
Experience with tax and accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and other business applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Active CPA license or CPA eligibility required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Prior public accounting or tax-focused experience required.
Experience working with small business and individual clients is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, ethical practices, confidentiality, and continuous learning.
4+ years of experience in Accounting/Auditing.
