Job Description
Our organization is a physician-led, accountable multispecialty group with over 650 providers, currently looking for a full-time Interventional Cardiologist to join a 13-member cardiology team in Boise. This team consists of 5 Interventional Cardiologists, 5 Invasive Cardiologists, and 3 Electrophysiologists. Additionally, we have a strong support network of inpatient and outpatient Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The Heart Institute features the region's only Women's Cardiology Program, Cardio-Oncology services, three catheterization labs with peripheral capabilities, a 22-bed prep and recovery unit for cath/EP, as well as cardiac nuclear medicine, vascular ultrasound, echocardiography, and EKG diagnostics.

The Boise practice is part of a larger, integrated cardiology team of 18 members that spans from Boise to Baker City, Oregon. Our Heart Institute is distinguished as the only program in the area accredited for Chest Pain by the American College of Cardiology and holds the Idaho Time Sensitive Emergency designation for STEMI, Stroke, and Trauma.
Work Schedule: This position offers a Monday to Friday schedule with mutual flexibility. The role is based at the Boise Hospital (main campus) with outreach to clinics 1-2 times per month and affiliated telemedicine network facilities. Call duties are shared equally among five providers.
Support Services: The role is supported by Cardiac MRI and CT Angiography, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Trauma, Neurosurgery, and a large team of Hospitalists and Intensivists. Our organization boasts a network of 74 primary and specialty care clinic locations. The cardiac catheterization lab is staffed with board-certified cardiologists, registered nurses, radiology technicians, and cardiovascular technologists.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship program.
- Board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Interventional Cardiology, or the ability to obtain these certifications within three years of employment.
- Unrestricted full medical license in Idaho and Oregon, with the ability to practice medicine in all its phases. Candidates must secure Idaho medical licensure and privileges at SAMC-Nampa, SARMC-Boise, and other affiliated hospitals as necessary; valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA is required.
- Ability to obtain appropriate hospital medical staff privileges, including Stents, IVUS, Interventional left and right heart catheterizations, electrocardiograms, Holter and echocardiogram interpretation, stress treadmill testing and supervision, stress echocardiograms, and pacemaker implantations and checks. Nuclear cardiology skills are a plus but not mandatory. Echo board certification is not required. Interventional treatment of peripheral vascular disease is also available.
