Job Description - Estimator (Sitework & Underground Utilities)

Full Job Description:

A leading site contractor offering competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package at or above industry standards is seeking a motivated individual for a full-time Estimator position in Carver, MA. Compensation is based on experience and certifications.

The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in the underground utility and sitework industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Review plans and specifications to fully understand project scope and requirements related to cost estimation

Accurately estimate plan/spec and design-build site development, underground utility, and road building projects

Solicit vendor and subcontractor quotations and review for scope compliance

Prepare detailed estimates by performing complete takeoffs for site development and underground utility projects

Attend pre-bid meetings as required

Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships

Conduct site visits and surveys to validate scope and incorporate into estimates

Review estimate details with management prior to proposal submission

Manage preconstruction RFIs for assigned projects

Participate in project turnover meetings with the project management team

Qualifications:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents

Strong expertise in sitework and underground utilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Bluebeam or Adobe

Experience with estimating software such as In-Site or B2W is a plus

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
