Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time role offers a consistent 32.5-hour workweek, supporting elementary students and helping them reach developmental and academic milestones. The assignment extends from August 2026 through May 2027, providing a stable and meaningful professional experience.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Illinois
- Previous pediatric or school-based OT experience preferred
- Strong understanding of OT best practices within an educational setting
- Comfortable working with elementary-age children across a range of abilities
- Ability to develop effective treatment plans in partnership with teachers, parents, and staff
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide therapy services to elementary students in individual and group settings
- Develop, implement, and regularly update IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Assess, document, and report student progress toward therapeutic goals
- Collaborate with educators and families to integrate therapeutic strategies into classroom routines
- Adapt interventions to support student independence, participation, and learning
- Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and district requirements for service delivery and documentation
- Participate in staff meetings, ARD/IEP meetings, and professional development as needed
