As an integral part of a collaborative school team, you’ll work 32.5 hours each week, focusing on an engaging elementary caseload. Your expertise will help students develop essential life and academic skills through individualized and group interventions, enabling a more successful educational experience.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
- Previous experience in school-based OT preferred
- Strong understanding of child development and therapeutic strategies for the elementary population
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with students, staff, and families
- Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans collaboratively
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments to identify students' occupational therapy needs
- Designing and delivering tailored therapeutic interventions in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborating with teachers, school staff, and families to integrate OT strategies into the classroom
- Monitoring and documenting student progress while adjusting interventions as needed
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary team discussions
- Promoting a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student growth and participation
