Position Overview and Qualifications

In the role of Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will be essential in delivering attentive, high-quality care to patients transitioning from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Your efforts will assist patients in regaining strength, preventing complications, and progressing toward recovery. You will collaborate closely with a dedicated critical care team focused on enhancing lives daily.

Your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Delivering direct care to patients with intricate needs, including administering medications, aiding with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), managing tubes and drains, and supporting advanced monitoring.
  • Vigilantly observing for any changes in heart rate, oxygen saturation, or neurological status, and promptly notifying the team to facilitate early intervention.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation to ensure effective teamwork and patient safety.
  • Assisting patients and their families in understanding their conditions and providing support as they navigate serious health challenges and recovery processes.
  • Collaborating closely with registered nurses, physicians, and specialists to aid patients in stabilizing and progressing from intensive care.
Required Qualifications:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN).
  • Graduation from a vocational school.
