Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) will autonomously deliver direct nursing care to patients and their families, adhering to established protocols, policies, and practices.
Work Location: Mother Infant Unit - Main Campus
Work Hours: 24 hours, part-time
Shift Timing: Nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
The Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway consists of four distinct levels based on the RN's experience, education, and qualifications.
- Level I - Less than 12 months of RN experience.
- Level II - 12 months to less than 3 years of RN experience.
- Level III - 3 years to less than 8 years of RN experience.
- Level IV - 8 years or more of RN experience.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
- 12 months to less than 3 years of RN experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Department-specific certifications may be required based on the type of patient care provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN licensure in Massachusetts in good standing is mandatory.
- BSN is highly preferred.
- Candidates with an Associate’s degree in nursing may be considered, with encouragement to enroll in a BSN program within one year of hire.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in telemetry or intermediate care settings is preferred.
- BLS certification is required.
- ACLS certification is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Occasional lifting of 30-35 lbs and repositioning of patients.
- Extended periods of standing and walking.
- Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting.
- Exposure to infectious diseases and potential carcinogenic substances.
- Risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- Fine manual dexterity is required for patient handling.
- Visual and auditory acuity necessary for monitoring patient care.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
- Knowledge and application of the nursing process.

The base pay ranges reflect the minimum qualifications for this role.
