Our organization is a physician-led, accountable multispecialty group with over 650 providers, currently in search of a skilled Interventional Cardiologist to take on the role of Medical Director for a cardiology practice in Nampa. This group consists of 7 members, including 4 Interventional Cardiologists, 3 General Non-Invasive Cardiologists, and several Nurse Practitioners.

The Heart Center in Nampa is equipped with two catheterization labs that offer peripheral vascular capabilities, a preparation and recovery unit for catheterization, a 10-bed Cardiac Medical Unit, as well as facilities for nuclear medicine, echocardiography, EKG diagnostics, and a Cardiac Recovery Unit. With immediate access to comprehensive emergency and heart care services, our center boasts the only 24/7 interventional catheterization lab in Canyon County and is recognized as the fastest-growing cardiology program in the area.

The Nampa practice is part of a broader, integrated cardiology team consisting of 20 members across the health system.

This full-time position follows a traditional work schedule from Monday to Friday, including consultations and rounding. The on-call rotation is 1:4, shared fairly among the Interventional Cardiologists, with the possibility of additional paid call shifts.

Support services include Interventional Radiology, Cardiac MRI, three Endoscopy suites, and radiology services available Monday through Friday (with on-call support during weekends and holidays). The Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, located 15 miles away, offers Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery, Trauma, and Neurosurgery. Our organization also has a network of 74 primary and specialty care clinics. The cardiac catheterization lab is staffed by board-certified cardiologists, registered nurses, radiology technicians, and cardiovascular technologists.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in complex coronary interventions, including atherectomy and Impella.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship program.
  • Board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Interventional Cardiology, or the ability to obtain these certifications within three years of employment.
  • Capability to secure medical licensure in Idaho and Oregon, along with privileges at SAMC-Nampa, SARMC-Boise, and other affiliated hospitals as necessary; valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
  • Attain appropriate hospital medical staff privileges for procedures including stenting, IVUS, interventional left and right heart catheterizations, electrocardiograms, Holter and echocardiogram interpretation, stress treadmill testing and supervision, stress echocardiograms, and pacemaker insertions and checks, as well as atherectomy and Impella procedures.
  • Optional: Skills in nuclear cardiology are appreciated but not mandatory. Echo board certification is also not a requirement. Opportunities for interventional treatment of peripheral vascular disease are available.
