Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D) - Travel
Job Description
Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns in the Labor & Delivery unit.
Monitor maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor, delivery, and recovery.
Manage and titrate medications including Pitocin, Magnesium, Insulin, and glucose-related therapies.
Perform fetal monitoring, assessments, and interventions based on patient status.
Assist physicians and providers during vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and emergency procedures.
Provide postpartum care including maternal assessments, education, and newborn care support.
Care for antepartum patients, mother-baby patients, and newborn/NICU patients.
Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR.
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, neonatal teams, and multidisciplinary healthcare staff.
Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and evidence-based L&D practices.
Active RN License (IA license required before start date).
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience preferred.
Strong experience with:
Labor & Delivery nursing
Postpartum care
Newborn care
Fetal monitoring
High-risk OB patients
C-section recovery
Experience managing/titrating:
Pitocin
Magnesium Sulfate
Insulin
Glucose management
EPIC experience preferred.
Must be willing to work:
Night shifts
Every 4th weekend
Holiday rotation (1-2 upcoming summer holidays if unit remains open)
Must meet facility travel requirements:
No local candidates within 90 miles of Finley Hospital.

Patient Ratios:
Labor: 1:1
Postpartum: 1:2
NICU: 2:1
Delivery Volume: 50-60 births/month
