Clinical Pharmacist in Jacksonville, AR
Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A direct hire opportunity is available for a clinical pharmacist to work day shifts in a 359-bed pediatric trauma and teaching hospital. This facility is one of the largest pediatric medical providers in the nation and the only pediatric medical center in Arkansas. The team environment is fast-paced and progressive, with a state-of-the-art facility supporting a patient-centered approach.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 8-hour shifts, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Responsibilities:
- Compound and dispense medications following physician orders
- Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and medication use
- Respond to patient inquiries about medications and dosages
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and comply with regulatory standards
- Verify dosing appropriateness based on diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area
- Identify and intervene in drug therapy problems such as allergies and drug interactions
- Initiate and suggest cost-effective drug therapies when appropriate
- Evaluate non-formulary drug needs and ensure proper medication administration
- Prepare, label, and ensure quality of all drug products
- Process medication orders efficiently and prioritize appropriately
- Provide clinical support in patient care areas and monitor therapeutic outcomes
- Participate in education and training of patients, staff, and students
- Conduct drug information and utilization review activities
- Manage medication ordering and inventory processes, including coordinating substitutions and back orders
Qualifications:
- Valid Arkansas pharmacist license
- Minimum of 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience
- IV experience or certification preferred
- Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) designation preferred
