Job Description
Step into a meaningful role as a dedicated Occupational Therapist, supporting students from Kindergarten through 8th grade for the upcoming school year. In this full-time, contract position, you’ll help students thrive by providing essential therapy services across two welcoming school sites near Baton Rouge, LA. Working from mid-August through the end of the school year, you’ll empower learners with the skills they need for classroom and daily life success.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in Louisiana
- Experience serving school-aged children, especially across the K-8 range
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to travel between two local school sites as needed
- Knowledge of developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Passion for creating inclusive, accessible learning environments
Your key responsibilities include:
- Conducting evaluations and delivering evidence-based OT services
- Collaborating closely with teachers, staff, and families to address students’ needs
- Tracking progress, maintaining organized documentation, and contributing to IEP meetings
- Adapting equipment, materials, and techniques to meet diverse student abilities
- Offering guidance and education to staff and caregivers
- Ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all students
