School-Based Physical Therapist - Winter Garden, Florida
Job Description
Step into a dynamic role serving students across multiple schools as a contract Physical Therapist for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time, on-site assignment is located near Winter Garden, FL, working with K-12 students, including some Pre-K, to provide both direct and indirect physical therapy services. With a diverse caseload, you’ll collaborate with another PT and a PTA, typically supporting two to three schools each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Florida Professional Physical Therapist license required
- Experience in school settings strongly preferred, but candidates demonstrating adaptability and relevant skills will be considered
- Capable of serving diverse age groups (K-12, including Pre-K)
- Ability to work itinerantly across multiple campuses
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive physical therapy services to students in alignment with their IEPs and individual needs
- Rotate between assigned campuses within the district, generally servicing two or three schools each day
- Balance a caseload of approximately 94 students (shared with another PT and a PTA)
- Maintain accurate documentation and coordinate indirect services as needed
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate closely with other therapy and education professionals
- Complete required district onboarding and credentialing steps promptly to ensure full compliance
This position offers the opportunity to make an impact across a broad spectrum of schools while working regular hours (Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) during the academic year. Candidates should be prepared for timely onboarding and credentialing—district interviews are actively taking place as of July 21.
