Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-focused care that aligns with departmental needs and adheres to state and specialty practice standards. Collaborating with medical professionals and the care team, the RN provides tailored, comprehensive, and compassionate care through phone assessments in emergency rooms, evaluates clinical presentations of patients needing psychiatric hospitalization, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to determine suitable care for those with psychiatric conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing clinical presentations for inpatient psychiatric admissions.
  • Responding to inquiries from the community.
  • Conducting telehealth assessments for appropriate levels of care.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in behavioral health assessments, the ability to swiftly evaluate and recommend care levels based on psychiatric symptoms, and familiarity with admission criteria for behavioral health facilities.

Education:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma.
Experience:
  • Preferred 1-3 years of experience in a behavioral healthcare environment conducting clinical assessments.
  • A minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience with psychiatric symptoms is required for RNs.
  • Applicants should be comfortable with technology and excel in a multidisciplinary team setting, collaborating with RNs, MDs, social workers, and other qualified mental health professionals.
