Position Overview

Our organization, a prominent health system in central Ohio, is on the lookout for an Assistant OBGYN Residency Program Director for our ACGME-accredited joint residency program in collaboration with a leading university. This residency program accommodates a total of 44 residents and is supported by a dedicated team of OBGYN faculty, alongside our full-time Academic OB Hospitalists who ensure 24/7 coverage.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Program Director will:

  • Organize, coordinate, and oversee various components of the integrated OBGYN Residency Program at our facility, adhering to ACGME standards.
  • Stay updated on clinical advancements and practices within the field of OBGYN.
  • Engage actively in professional activities that enhance resident training, both in clinical settings and educational contexts.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to OBGYN residents during didactic and clinical educational sessions.
Essential Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in graduate medical education within an ACGME-accredited teaching hospital and OBGYN program.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with resident physicians, teaching faculty, hospital administration, and staff.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for leadership development and mentoring residents.
  • A full and unrestricted medical license from the Ohio State Medical Board, along with current OBGYN Board Certification.
About Our OBGYN Services

Our health system provides comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services at multiple locations, including Mount Carmel East, Mount Carmel St. Ann's, and Mount Carmel Grove City. We share an OBGYN residency program with a leading university, accommodating 44 residents. In addition to serving the underserved communities in Columbus, we manage high-risk pregnancies and operate Level III NICUs, with Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists available at all campuses.

Graduate Medical Education at Our Organization

Our Graduate Medical Education program offers residents unique training experiences across three distinct hospitals, each catering to different patient demographics, as well as access to a state-of-the-art simulation center. Mount Carmel Grove City serves as our primary training site, where residents gain diverse clinical exposure through various rotations. Currently, we host five fully accredited ACGME residency programs, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, OBGYN, Orthopedics, and General Surgery.
