Opportunity Overview

  • Position Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, with in-person responsibilities and additional weekend rounding and call duties.
  • Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
  • Specialty: Psychiatry
  • Hospital Information: The facility features a 28-bed inpatient psychiatric unit and a Partial Hospitalization Program accommodating 24 chairs.
  • Position Details: This role encompasses consult-liaison services, along with the chance to cover the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).
  • Team Composition: 5 attending physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
  • Teaching Opportunities: Engage in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents within a collaborative academic framework.
  • Call Requirements: Participation in a consult call rotation.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry, with a commitment to achieve certification within 12 months.
  • Active Michigan medical license (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • DEA license
  • ACLS/BLS certification (must be maintained)

Responsibilities

A typical day may involve:

  • Delivering direct patient care
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Engaging in teaching and mentoring activities
  • Documenting patient information in Epic EMR
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives
  • Supporting community health initiatives
  • Additional opportunities may include involvement in group education efforts and pursuing continuing education for ongoing professional development.
