Medicaid Biller / Accounts Receivable Specialist (Hybrid)

Location: East Windsor, NJ (Hybrid - Minimum 2 days onsite per week)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Hours: 35 hours/week with a 1-hour lunch break
Pay: $22.00-$25.00/hour
Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a Medicaid Biller / Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a collaborative healthcare team supporting individuals with special needs. This role focuses on Medicaid waiver billing, accounts receivable management, payment tracking, and revenue cycle support.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly coachable, and comfortable working independently in a small agency environment. While prior Medicaid billing experience is preferred, the team is open to training the right candidate with a strong foundation in medical billing, administration, or financial operations.



Required Qualifications

  • Basic experience with medical billing, accounts receivable, healthcare administration, or revenue cycle processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Ability to learn new systems, workflows, and Medicaid billing processes.
  • Highly coachable with a willingness to receive training and feedback.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage daily responsibilities, and prioritize tasks without constant supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Medicaid billing or state-funded healthcare programs.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid waivers, authorizations, or fee-for-service billing.
  • Experience identifying billing discrepancies, payment issues, or revenue loss opportunities.
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare, nonprofit, or community-based service environment.
