Job Description
The Ready-Mix Sales Representative is responsible for all sales and sales-related activities in the assigned territory. Related activities include customer care, monitoring market trends, forecasting and accurate reporting.

$85,000 - $95,000 DOE

- Build and maintain strong customer relationships with decision makers for selecting concrete suppliers \n
- Understand established models for pricing and quoting \n
- Develop and maintain a list of target and development customers and build strong relationships with them to meet new sales goals \n
- Meet or exceed new and retention sales volume goals \n
- Gain and maintain a reputation for sound business acumen with business owners and decision makers \n
- Track current trends in the national and local economy and understand the impact on the local ready-mix market \n
- Compile detailed competitive and industry information \n
- Assist customers and Quality Control to provide required mix design submittals \n
- Proactively maintain open communication regarding customer requirements and expectations to appropriate plant, dispatch, quality and management personnel \n
- Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed \n
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned area \n
- Provide timely reports, i.e., monthly activity reports and expense reports, etc. \n
- Assist Credit Department with collections \n
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team \n
- Attend industry-related events and participate in trade associations, Chambers of Commerce, and local economic development groups \n
- Share expertise and experience with other sales team members \n
Bachelor’s degree preferred

- Minimum of 2 years sales experience, preferably in the construction materials industry \n
- Ability to spontaneously discuss industry, market and product knowledge in a variety of audiences \n
- Strong oral and written communication skills \n
- Strong organizational and time management skills \n
- Ability to influence and drive decision-making as appropriate \n
- Strong analytical skills \n
- Team-player both internally and externally \n
- Mid-level skill level with Microsoft Office Software, i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint \n
- Clean driving record (for last five years) \n
Preferred:
\n- \n
- Experience with Public Entities (state, county, city governments, etc.) \n
- Background in construction and/or manufacturing of construction products \n
- Familiar with CRM and customer contact databases \n
- Familiarity with ERP - SAP \n
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
