Job Description
About Facility:
o Level III Trauma Center
o Beds: 64
Unit Information:
o Beds: 8 LDRP/Antepartum beds
Census: Average patients/day 1-3
Minimum Years of Experience required: 2+ years of experience
o Will you accept a first-time traveler: Upon review
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o L&D patients > 35 weeks, GYN surgeries, antepartum, postpartum
Patient Ratios:
o Laboring: 1:1
o Couplets/Antepartum/Surgical: 1:3
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS, NRP, FHM
Skills required:
o Experience with above patient types, NSTs, triage patient, postpartum and newborn assessments/care, nursery care
Support within the Department:
o Charge RN takes patients as needed
o RN draws blood
o FHM at bedside and nurse's station, no tele
o Resource RN
o RRT
o OB MD has a 30-minute call back time
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Pyxis
o Unit specific equipment:
Floating: If yes, where:
o Could float to inpatient units to act as a sitter or in a CNA role
Orientation (facility and unit) :
o NEO
o At least one shift to learn flow
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: Every other
o On call: If so, what is that schedule:
Varies, based on contract
o Holiday Expectations:
o Approval of RTO: can approve up to 7 days
o Shift times:
o Schedule cycle:
Other notes:
o Scrub Color: Any color
o Parking: Parking would be in the yellow lines in front of building or by the ED
