Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care unit is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Collaborating with medical providers, the RN offers pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and acts as an advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in status.
  • Carry out procedures or functions as directed by the medical provider.
  • Document care administration in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
Qualifications Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 7 days of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate Degree in nursing.
