Occupational Therapist School Setting - Warren, MI

A rewarding opportunity awaits an Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based and healthcare settings. This contract position is conveniently located near Warren, MI, and focuses on supporting a small group of students in a year-round school environment. Beginning August 13th, you’ll provide essential services just one day a week, making it an excellent option for professionals seeking a manageable, part-time commitment.

You'll work with students in grades 7–12, serving up to four schools — the current need is across three campuses, with only six students on the caseload (four consult-only). One of the sites is a secure treatment facility for juvenile males, providing a unique and impactful practice setting. Direct services are delivered in-person; however, there’s flexibility to complete paperwork and related documentation from home.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist with active credentials
• Experience in school-based OT, home health, and/or healthcare settings preferred
• Comfortable working with older students (grades 7–12)
• Experience with consultative models of service is a plus
• Willingness to work onsite for direct interventions; self-motivated to work independently on documentation
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt services for students in specialized settings

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative OT services in accordance with IEPs and student needs
• Provide on-site evaluation, intervention, and monitoring
• Collaborate with school teams and families for student-centered goals
• Complete timely documentation and paperwork (remotely as allowed)
• Manage a small, focused caseload across multiple schools
