About Our Emergency DepartmentLocated in the picturesque town of Brevard, North Carolina, our facility is a critical access hospital. Our Emergency Department includes a 16-bed unit, featuring 4 vertical chairs and 4 treatment rooms that can be adapted for behavioral health needs. We deliver acute care for a diverse range of conditions, including chest pain, abdominal issues, fractures, and infections.

Job Summary and QualificationsThis role involves providing leadership that enhances the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. You will utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for patients and their families. You will also implement medically prescribed interventions.
Qualifications include:
- Preferred Experience: At least one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Required Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program, with a commitment to obtain a BSN within five years of starting the RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and entities. Exemptions or extensions may be granted by the facility's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and reported to the CNO Council. Facilities will track exemptions as needed. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt.
- Required License/Certifications: Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing is mandatory. An Enhanced Nurse License Compact (eNLC) license may apply; licensees should verify with the NCBON.
- Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
