Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Louisiana Department of Education certification required (temporary or in-progress licenses will not be considered)
- Demonstrated experience teaching general education math at the high school level
- Familiarity with current curriculum standards and instructional best practices
- Able to fulfill all district credentialing, including drug screening and fingerprinting
- Eagerness to begin work immediately with minimal onboarding
Primary Responsibilities:
- Guide high school students through engaging and comprehensive math lessons Monday through Friday, based on the school calendar (35 hours/week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch daily)
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to diverse student needs and learning styles
- Monitor progress, assess student understanding, and adjust instruction for maximum achievement
- Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and administrators to ensure cohesive support
- Maintain accurate records and participate in routine school and district meetings
