Pay: $38.00 - $44.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Job Type: Full-Time/Contract to Hire after 180 days

Position Summary

\n

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee a large-scale interior renovation and consolidation project at NASA Glenn Research Center. This position requires a hands-on leader with extensive commercial construction experience who can effectively manage subcontractors, maintain project schedules, enforce safety standards, and ensure quality workmanship throughout all phases of construction.

The Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating multiple trades across nearly 19,000 square feet of occupied and operational federal facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex interior renovations involving demolition, structural modifications, MEP systems, specialty equipment installation, and laboratory or office build-outs.

This is a high-profile federal project that requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to successfully manage construction activities while maintaining compliance with federal site requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day construction operations on-site from project kickoff through completion.
  • \n
  • Supervise subcontractors and coordinate activities across multiple trades to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • \n
  • Oversee interior demolition, structural modifications, and renovation activities.
  • \n
  • Coordinate the installation of: \n
      \n
    • Demountable wall and partition systems
    • \n
    • Millwork and cabinetry
    • \n
    • Doors, frames, and hardware
    • \n
    • Acoustic ceiling systems
    • \n
    • Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems
    • \n
    • Fire protection systems
    • \n
  • \n
  • Coordinate the relocation, installation, and protection of specialized aerospace and laboratory equipment.
  • \n
  • Maintain and update project schedules and monitor construction milestones.
  • \n
  • Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications.
  • \n
  • Review and coordinate shop drawings, engineered revisions, and construction documents.
  • \n
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, owners, subcontractors, and federal representatives.
  • \n
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
  • \n
  • Lead daily subcontractor coordination meetings and maintain detailed project documentation.
  • \n
  • Identify and proactively resolve construction issues to minimize project delays.
  • \n
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with federal construction requirements and project specifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial or federal construction projects.
  • \n
  • Experience managing interior renovations, office build-outs, laboratory spaces, or similar commercial construction projects.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, scheduling, and trade coordination.
  • \n
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and engineered revisions.
  • \n
  • Experience coordinating mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • \n
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
  • \n
  • Proficient in construction documentation and project reporting.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
