School-Based Physical Therapist - Tavares, FL
Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving students as a Physical Therapist in a dynamic, supportive school-based environment! This full-time position runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, and is set in the Tavares, FL area. You’ll enjoy the chance to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and positively impact students ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade. Work onsite, visiting two or three schools daily from a group of 35 across the district, in partnership with another PT and a PTA. The caseload is approximately 94 students, with responsibilities shared among therapists.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Florida Physical Therapist license
- Experience in school settings highly preferred, though strong candidates without it will be considered
- Comfort providing both direct and indirect services to a diverse student population (Pre-K through grade 12)
- Ability to manage itinerant travel among multiple schools
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for teaming with educators and other therapists
Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services supporting students’ educational access and success
- Evaluate students, develop IEP goals, and document progress
- Collaborate with educational staff, families, and other service providers
- Work onsite, traveling between designated schools as assigned
- Balance both direct student services and consultation/indirect support
Additional Details:
- Full-time hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm (30 min unpaid lunch)
