Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This direct hire opportunity involves supporting a leading pediatric medical center with a 359-bed trauma 1 teaching hospital environment. The role offers 8-hour day shifts Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with an immediate start. Ideal candidates hold an Arkansas pharmacist license and have at least 2 years of inpatient clinical pharmacy experience, including IV experience or IV certification. Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) is highly valued.

Key responsibilities include compounding and dispensing prescribed medications accurately, consulting with medical staff regarding drug interactions and patient history, and responding to patient inquiries about medication use. You will ensure that pharmacy data complies with regulatory and hospital standards, verify dosage appropriateness based on pediatric-specific criteria, and identify and resolve therapeutic issues such as allergies or adverse drug reactions. Additionally, this role involves evaluating non-formulary drug needs, confirming medication quality, and processing orders efficiently based on clinical priorities.

Your participation extends to serving as a clinical resource in patient care areas, monitoring outcomes, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize therapy. Training and educating pharmacy staff, students, and patients also form an essential part of this role. You will engage in drug information services, drug utilization reviews, and assist with medication supply management, including placing orders and managing substitutions and inventory controls.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Active Arkansas pharmacist license
  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient clinical pharmacy experience
  • IV experience or IV certification
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred
