Job Overview and Qualifications

This department encompasses a mix of Med/Surg, Stepdown, and ICU patients.

The Acute Care Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing high-quality, patient-focused care. Working alongside medical professionals, the RN delivers both pre-operative and post-operative nursing services, acting as a patient advocate to ensure an exceptional healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, noting and reporting any changes in status.
  • Carry out procedures or tasks as directed by the medical provider.
  • Accurately document care provided in the patient's medical record in a timely manner.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Stay informed about medications, procedures, and equipment relevant to the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
Qualifications Required:
  • Experience: Minimum of one year as a Registered Nurse.
  • Preferred Experience: Significant experience in a hospital setting.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Licensure: Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may be applicable; candidates should verify with NCBON.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and CPI are required.
  • Preferred Certification: National certification in a relevant specialty area.
