Practice Accountant - Description:

A progressive firm of chartered accountants based on the outskirts of Liverpool, is looking to recruit a ACA / ACCA Finalist or Recently qualified Practice Accountant to join their professional and friendly team. The firm offers a flexible, family friendly, hybrid working environment and is run by experienced, down-to-earth directors with a modern approach.

A xero gold partner, they represent a broad client base, alongside a few niche and interesting sectors including media, technology, celebrities and property.

Reporting to the Directors, the Practice Accountant will build up to taking responsibility for a portfolio of individuals, owner managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients with turnovers up to the audit threshold. Ideally, within 6-12 months, you will develop into being the first point of contact for the clients, dealing with day-to-day queries alongside ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and to deadline.

Practice Accountant - Responsibilities include:

• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies mainly FRS 105, some FRS 102 1A
\n
• Produce corporation tax computations and returns, plus personal tax work for business owners/directors
\n
• Support clients with management accounts, VAT returns and general SME advice
\n
• Review juniors’ work depending on level and help with their development
\n
• Build long-term client relationships and become a trusted point of contact
\n

Essential Requirements:

• Nearly / newly qualified ACA or ACCA, or strong QBE / AAT with solid practice experience
\n
• A strong background in accounts preparation and taxation experience, gained from general practice.
\n
• Good IT skills and knowledge of a variety of accounting packages including IRIS, Sage and Xero
\n
• Confident and professional manner
\n
