People Services Administrator£25,738 per annumPlymouth37.5 hours per weekFull-TimePermanentAt St Lukes Hospice, our people make everything we do possible. We are looking for an exceptional People Services Administrator to join our small, friendly and busy People Services team.This is a varied and important role at the heart of the organisation. You will support the employee and volunteer lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to payroll administration, record keeping, compliance checks and general People Services support. You will help keep key processes moving, maintain accurate people data and provide a professional, responsive and helpful service to managers, staff, volunteers and candidates.About youWe are looking for someone who is not only an excellent administrator, but someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and providing a first-class service.You will be highly organised, efficient and detail-focused, with the ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy environment. You will be confident communicating with people at all levels, comfortable managing a varied workload and able to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.This role would suit someone who is approachable, conscientious and proactive, with a positive can do attitude. You will enjoy finding solutions, improving processes, using systems effectively and supporting colleagues across the organisation.What youll be doingYou will:Support re cruitment administration, onboarding and new starter processesCommunicate professionally with candidates, managers, staff and volunteersPrepare letters, contracts and employment documentationMaintain accurate employee and volunteer recordsSupport payroll, benefits and contractual administrationCarry out and monitor recruitment compliance checks, including right to work, references, DBS checks where applicable and professional registration checksSupport absence recording, reporting and routine People Services queriesHelp improve systems, processes and the overall employee and volunteer experienceWhat were looking forYou will bring:Excellent administration skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyGood organisational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesConfident written and verbal communication skillsA professional, friendly and customer-focused approachStrong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and TeamsConfidence using databases or digital systemsThe ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriatelyA positive, flexible and supportive approach to working as part of a teamExperience in HR, recruitment, payroll, charity, healthcare or volunteer administration would be helpful, but what matters most is that you are accurate, organised, proactive and committed to providing an excellent service.Why join us?You will be joining a supportive, values-led organisation where the quality of our people processes makes a real difference to the experience of our staff and volunteers.
